The River is a Christian church serving the Channelview Area and East Harris County, TX!

At the River, we have something for everyone in the family. Whatever the life stage you are in, we have a RiverConnect Group designed to meet you right where you are.

We’d love to have you join us for one of our worship experiences: Sunday mornings at 9am or 11am and Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. We can’t wait to see you!

Our Mission

We have 3 focuses that shape the “why we do what we do” at the River:

Love God – Our first focus is that all of our River Family would connect to Jesus in a personal and intimate way. Our weekly worship services are designed with this focus in mind… from the time spent in singing, to the time spent talking to God throughout the service.

Love People – We believe that to develop into the kind of Christian that Jesus wants us to be, we need each other. This is why we have RiverConnect Groups- a time where you can connect with other people experiencing the same life choices & turning points that you are.

Change the World – We are convinced that becoming a follower of Jesus is the best decision you will ever make; we are so convinced of this, that we believe it is worth sharing! This is the reason we place such great emphasis on serving our community and telling others about God’s love for them!

We believe in one God,
      the Father almighty,
      maker of heaven and earth,
      of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
      the only Son of God,
      begotten from the Father before all ages,
           God from God,
           Light from Light,
           true God from true God,
      begotten, not made;
      of the same essence as the Father.

      Through him all things were made.
      For us and for our salvation
           he came down from heaven;
           he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
           and was made human.
           He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
           he suffered and was buried.
           The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
           He ascended to heaven
           and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
           He will come again with glory
           to judge the living and the dead.
           His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the Lord, the giver of life.
      He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
      and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
      He spoke through the prophets.
      We believe in one holy (
unified) and apostolic (Bible Believing) church.
      We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
      We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
      and to life in the world to come. Amen.
