Vicki McCoy: Staff Assistant
Vicki McCoy was born and raised in Mena, Arkansas and moved to Houston with her family when she was 10. She comes from a very godly heritage with deep Southern Baptist roots and was very disappointed to find out she was the wrong religion to become a nun, which is what she wanted to be when she was 9. :-) She "walked the aisle" several times as a child but at the age of 18 she truly gave her heart to her Savior. However, she didn't grow in her walk with the Lord until years later when she was discipled by a sweet friend. That friend’s intentional act of coming alongside her to encourage her and challenge her in her walk transformed her life & she fell madly in love with her Jesus!
It is through that journey that God gave her a sense of purpose and has allowed her to minister to the hearts of women through what she calls “accidental discipleship” because it seems to happen naturally through the bonds of friendship.
Vicki has served on 4 short-term mission trips. She ministered in Kenya, East Africa in 1997, 1999 & 2001 and in 2008 she ministered in Tegucigalpa, Honduras with KSBJ.
Vicki was married for over 27 yrs. when her sweet husband went home to be with the Lord in 2011. She has a wonderful son, Mason, sweet daughter-in-law, Kendra, 2 FABULOUS Grandgirls, Cady & Ryleigh and one AWESOME Grandboy, Landon! They are the loves of her life.
Vicki has served on staff at The River as the Administrative Assistant River since 2009.
In her spare time Vicki enjoys spending time with her family, especially her Grandloves and hanging out with her sweet friends. She is also an avid photographer and knows everything you need to know about Box Turtles.
